The tide brought elements of the sea, a symbol of "The Great Mother," and left them at my feet: a Chiton Mollusca intertwined with coral, kelp, salt, and stone. This tiny mollusk, washed by eternity, has become my personal symbol of transformation, resilience, and adaptation.
Like the Chiton Mollusca clinging to the rocks, I stand on the sands of time, grounded and anchored against the tides. The sea, the tide, the breath of life—it all converged in that moment, reminding me that even amidst life's challenges, I can embody strength and adaptability.
Chiton Tide is a creation made from a variety of seashells, including chiton, blue limpet, scalloped, coral, and mussels. It also incorporates kelp, seaweed, sand, sea sediment, and a pink jasper stone. The materials for this artwork were gathered at Greenwood Beach, CA.
